Dr. Ghadir Pourhashem joined ERAdiate in March 2017 as a Senior Researcher in IntelligentTransport Systems.
He has spent several years of his career and education in researching and developing new models, travel survey methodologies and data analysis to improve decision-making towards a more sustainable urban mobility development. He has also gained valuable experience through collaborating in a wide variety of modeling, planning and management projects and with various international groups in Europe, U.S. and Iran since 2004.
Ghadir’s expertise as a senior transportation researcher lies in travel survey design, travel behaviour analysis, impact analysis of ICT and ITS applications on travel pattern and transportation demands, land-use analysis, travel demand modeling, transit-oriented development (TOD) planning and sustainable mobility planning in both academic and government research.
He has a wide range of mentoring and teaching experience and has taught courses of transportation planning and modeling, application of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Information and Communication Technologies and environmental impacts of transportation systems to graduate students of diverse backgrounds since 2013.
Ghadir received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and a Master’s in transportation engineering in Iran and holds a Ph.D. in transportation engineering and planning from the Polytechnic University of Torino in Italy. His Ph.D. and postdoctoral research focused on key factors influencing people’s daily activity pattern and travel behaviour.
