Tibor Petrov finished his MSc (2015) and a PhD degree (2018) at the University of Žilina, Faculty of Electrical Engineering,Department of Multimedia and Information-Communication Technologies. His research activities include vehicular and cellular networks, vehicular network applications and computer modelling of cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
His PhD thesis titled „Cooperative Technologies in Intelligent Transportation Systems“ explored the design and simulation of Emergency Vehicle Warning application for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs).
In 2017, his project Emergency Vehicles Coordination using V2X Communication received the European Transport Innovation Challenge 2017 award along with 11 other winners.
Since 2016 he has been collaborating closely with the ERAdiate team in communication standards and applications for Vehicular Ad hoc Networks. He joined the ERAdiate team full-time in September 2018 as a Researcher in Intelligent Transport Systems.
