The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the French Embassy in Bratislava organised the Bilateral Forum « Ville intelligente – Inteligentné mesto » on 24 October 2017 in Bratislava. The Forum gathered experts, local and national governments and companies from both countries to exchange good practices on common issues related to the development of intelligent and innovative solutions for the benefit of citizens and the sustainable development of urban areas. The opportunities and challenges brought by the integration of ICT solutions in the management of city services, such as transportation, energy and housing, were also debated.
Two ERAdiate team members had been invited to attend by the French Embassy in Slovakia. ERA Chair Holder, Tatiana Kováčiková, and Dr. Giuseppe Lugano. Tatiana took a part in the panel discussion on “Focus on Smart Mobility: How to develop greener, safer and more efficient public transportation and transport infrastructure? How to use new technologies in urban development to achieve this goal?”. She also gave the presentation ”New technologies contribute to a development of transport infrastructure” and was interviewed by Radio Slovaquie Internationale (La Slovaquie en direct). In the interview (starting from 20′), she explained the objectives of ERAdiate, the implications of Intelligent Transport Systems for everyday life and highlighted the necessity for the Slovak government to start developing an ITS strategy, a roadmap and an action plan soon.
