The ERAdiate team was invited to participate in the Opening Symposium of China-Central European Alliance for Innovations, Science and Technology. This event was hosted at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava on 18 October 2017.
The programme of the symposium included a morning session with keynotes and the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding between nine Chinese universities and ten Central European universities, including the University of Žilina (UNIZA). The afternoon programme consisted of three sessions on research and innovation areas relevant to ITS and smart cities. Further details on the event and its speakers are available in the event page.
Dr. Giuseppe Lugano contributed to the Session 3 “Smart City and Transportation” with a presentation on “Mobility and Time Value (MoTiV): a Slovak Initiative to Advance the State-of-the-Art on Value of Travel Time Research”. In his talk, Dr. Lugano presented the H2020 MoTiV project (coordinated by the ERAdiate team at UNIZA) as a Slovak success story and stressed the importance of the acquisition of this project in the context of long-term development of UNIZA as a major actor in Europe concerning ITS research and innovation. After having described the general context, Dr. Lugano presented the objective, impact and planned activities of the MoTiV project.
The talk inspired interest, also from the Chinese delegation who looks forward to being updated on the project developments and possibly exploring opportunities for collaboration, for instance through research visits.
