The University of Zilina (Department of Mathematical Methods and Operations Research at the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics) is offering two PhD positions on the following topics:
- Data analysis and data-centric modelling in energy and transport. The proposed PhD topic includes the application and development of methods to analyse large datasets.
- Data-centric modelling and optimisation of electric vehicles charging. The goal of this project is to propose a method to coordinate charging of a fleet of electric vehicles in order to match available network capacity with the charging demand in time and/or space.
The candidates are expected to have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: computer science, software engineering, geoinformatics or operations research.
Lubos Buzna, Senior Researcher in ERAdiate and Associate Professor of Applied Informatics at the UNIZA Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, will be the advisor. The expected start date is September 1, 2017. The deadline for applications is approaching soon. Applications should be sent to Assoc. Prof. Lubos Buzna by the 10th of June at the latest.
